Privacy policy for WeChat Image Downloader

WeChat Image Downloader works entirely inside your browser. It does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal information or browsing data with the developer or any third party.

Data used by the extension

When you click the download button on a WeChat post, the extension reads the images in that page and downloads them to your computer. Images are fetched directly by your browser from WeChat's image servers and saved to your Downloads folder. Nothing is sent to a developer-operated server.

The extension stores your preferences (filename prefix, button position, minimum image size, and whether the button is shown) in Chrome's local extension storage on your device. It has no account system, advertising, analytics, or telemetry.

The extension's use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Permissions

• Downloads: Saves the selected images to your computer.
• Storage: Saves your settings locally.
• Host access (mp.weixin.qq.com, *.qpic.cn): Reads images on WeChat post pages and fetches them from WeChat's image servers so they can be downloaded.

Retention and deletion

Locally stored settings remain in Chrome until you change them, clear extension storage, or uninstall the extension. Because no data is sent to the developer, the developer has no remote copy to retain or delete. Downloaded images are ordinary files under your control.

This policy may be updated if the extension's behavior changes. The latest version will remain available on this page.
